Get Involved

YOU can make a difference in returning music to the children of Afghanistan. Here are a few ideas. We are always interested in hearing your ideas as well. Please email us at info@afghansongbook.org for more information or assistance.

  1. Sponsor a sing-a-long in your community

Gather families together for a sing-a-long. Have a local band volunteer to help lead the songs. Teach one song from the songbook. Let people know this is a fund raiser for this project. Have books for sale. Charge a minimal admission fee ($5.00/person or $10.00/family) With permission from the Project, show the video or a slide show of Afghan children singing. As an example, a Music Together group in Arlington, MA. Put on a sing-a-long and raised over $500 for the Project. All proceeds go to the support of printing more songbooks for Afghan children. To find out more about this option, contact Louise Pascale, info@afghansongbook.org

  1. Have a school fundraiser for the Afghan Children’s Songbook Project.

Several schools across the United States have chosen to support this project by having a school fundraiser. Some schools have had a school assembly. Others have an evening event. If possible, Louise Pascale, Project Director and Editor of the songbook, comes to speak and tell about the project. Music teachers have taught songs from the book. When Ms. Pascale is unable to come, schools have, with permission from the Project, shown photos of children in Afghanistan with their new songbook and video of Afghan children singing. All proceeds go to the support of printing more songbooks for Afghan children. To find out more about this option, contact Louise Pascale, info@afghansongbook.org
